This morning (15 February 2022), the Ministry of Finance held a Roundtable on financing climate change. Permanent Vice Minister of Finance Mr. Tran Xuan Ha and Ms. Carolyn Turk - World Bank Country Director in Viet Nam co-chaired the discussion.
The Ministry of Finance, acting under the authority from the Government of Viet Nam, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to become the eighth member of the Southeast Asia Disaster Risk Insurance Facility (SEADRIF) include Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, The Philippines, Singapore, Japan and Viet Nam. Nguyen Duc Chi, Vice Minister of Finance of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, representative of Viet Nam in the SEADRIF Council of Members.
On November 19, Vietnamese Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc and Australian Treasurer Josh Frydenberg virtually signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on financial cooperation between the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam and the Australian Treasury for the 2021-2023 period. In Viet Nam, the signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister & Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy in Vietnam and Directors of some functional departments of the Ministry of Finance of Viet Nam.
Mr.Vo Thanh Hung, Vice Minister of Finance and Ms. Steffi Stallmeister, the World Bank’s Operations Manager for Vietnam, East Asia and Pacific co-chaired the conference on the review of the implementation of Vietnam Public Expenditure Review recommendations. The conference was hybrid, with 32 virtual groups of participants.
On November 17, Vice Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha had a virtual meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Staff mission led by Ms. Era Dabla-Norris. Attending the meeting were representatives from relevant departments of the Ministry.
On the morning of 22th October 2021, the 28th APEC Finance Ministers Meeting was convened virtually under the chair of the Honorable Grant Robertson, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of New Zealand (the host of APEC in 2021), the participation of Finance Ministers of member economies and international financial institutions. Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha attended the virtual meeting with representatives of the related Departments under the Ministry of Finance.
