According to The General Department of Taxation, the Tax sector has coordinated with 55 commercial banks (completed the connection of electronic tax payment with the General Department of Taxation) and 63 local tax departments to deploy electronic tax payment services, propagate and encourage enterprises participating in using the service.

As of February 18, 2022, the results achieved are positive as follows: The number of enterprises that have registered to use the service with the tax authority is 843,663 out of 852,081 operating enterprises, (reaching a rate of 99%). The number of enterprises completing service registration with banks is 841,643 out of 852,081 operating enterprises (reaching 98.8%). Early 2022, from January 1, 2022 to February 18, 2022, enterprises have paid taxes through 1,012,520 electronic tax payment transactions with the amount of over 122,684 billion VND and 5,870,482 USD.

For individuals using electronic tax payment services, the General Department of Taxation has connected with 07 commercial banks (VietcomBank, VietinBank, AgriBank, MBBank, VPBank, BIDV and TPBank) to provide this service. Accordingly, individuals can use electronic tax payment forms through the bank's payment channels such as Internet Banking, Mobile Banking.

From January 1, 2022 to February 18, 2022, across the country, there were 53,284 car and motorbike registration fee payment transactions through Internet Banking and Mobile banking, accounting for 5.9% of the total 903,378 car and motorbike registration fee transactions nationwide.

Earlier, on December 14, 2021, the General Department of Taxation issued Official Letter No. 4899/TCT-CNTT on the implementation of electronic tax application for mobile devices (eTax Mobile 1.0).

In just a short time, from January 1, 2022 to February 18, 2022, the total number of taxpayers using the eTax Mobile application is 9,418, the number of taxpayers registering an account via the app is 13,183 and the delivery number Tax payment via the app is 1,793 transactions with a total amount of over 4.5 billion VNĐ.

As the same time, the total number of enterprises participating in electronic tax refund is 2,411 out of 2,432 tax refund enterprises (reaching 99.1%). The number of electronic records that were received is 2,886 out of 2,915 records (reaching 99%). The total number of files that the system has resolved to refund is 1,567 records with a total amount of refunded settlement of more than 10,353 billion VNĐ.

At present, the General Department of Taxation is implementing the Law on Tax Administration No. 38/2019/QH14 and Decree 123/2020/ND-CP on invoices and documents. Based on the Minister of Finance’s decisions on the implementation of the application of e-invoices in 6 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Binh Dinh, Phu Tho, the General Department of Taxation has also issued Decision No.1417/QD-TCT dated September 27, 2021 on the plan to apply e-invoice in 06 provinces and cities and announced the implementation of e-invoice at the General Department of Taxation and the 06 local tax departments. 

Accordingly, the system of 07 e-invoice implementation management centers at the General Department of Taxation and 06 local tax departments has been operating smoothly, with hotlines and staff on duty to support during and out of office hours to ensure regular exchange, promptly answer and remove problems during the implementation of the e-invoice. At the present time, over 489,000 enterprises have registered and used e-invoices according to the provisions of Decree No.123/2020/ND-CP.

To continue implementing the e-invoice phase 2, the General Department of Taxation has submitted to the Ministry of Finance the report No.591/TTr-TCT dated February 15, 2022 on the implementation plan. The Ministry of Finance has issued Decision No.206/QD-BTC dated February 24, 2022 on the application of e-invoices in 57 provinces and cities and also sent an official dispatch No.1799/BTC-TCT dated February 24, 2022 to Mr. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities on the coordination in the application of e-invoices in these provinces and cities.

Pursuant to the Decision of the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Taxation is urgently implementing specific tasks such as: deploying IT technical infrastructure for nationwide; promulgating the Decision on the detailed plan to deploy the application of e-invoices in 57 provinces and cities; consolidating the staff of the Steering Committee, the Standing Group to deploy the e-invoice at the General Department of Taxation and 57 local Tax Departments; perfecting institutions, policies and professional processes of e-invoices; organizing training and propaganda for taxpayers and tax authorities; monitoring the preparation and implementation process to deploy nationwide from April 2022.
