In Hanoi, on June 13th, Ministry of Finance had a meeting with European Union (EU) and United States delegation in Vietnam about solution to the implementation of Decision 1079/QD-BTC on May 20th, 2014 in applying price stabilization solution for milk for children under 6 years old.

Attending the meeting, there were leaders of some units in Ministry of Finance: Department of Price Management; Inspector of Ministry and Department of International Cooperation. In EU's delegation in Hanoi, there were Mr. Jean-Jacques Bouflet - Deputy Ambassador of EU in Vietnam; Economic Counsellor of Embassy in US with representatives of some enterprises: Nestle, Mead Johnson, Abbot và Friesland Capina.
The two sides focused on exchanging and solving problems of the business and manufacturing enterprises which have products in 25 price stabilization applied products such as: Maximum price base for 25 milk products of 5 enterprises in Decision 1079/QD-BTC; Reasonable costs and profit for enterprises when fixing the ceiling price.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Ambassador of EU in Vietnam Jean-Jacques Bouflet said, this is an useful and practical meeting for the enterprises. Mr. Jean-Jacques Bouflet desired from the goodwill and the commitment in this meeting will be reflected in the future meetings. Through these activities, it will meet the benefits of both sides. To Vietnam, these activites will meet the price stabilization efforts to have suitable price index for the market.
Deputy Ambassador of EU wants the relationship between Vietnam and EU will continue to be maintained through many forms such as organizing meetings for two sides to both share, solve the problems and difficulties for the enterprises.
At the meeting, Director of Price Management Department of MoF Nguyen Anh Tuan highly appreciated the sharings of EU delegation and the enterprises. Mr. Tuan also hoped that dialogues between management firms and enterprises will continue to be organized so that the enterprises will know more clearly about policy and laws in Vietnam.
Representative of Department of Price Management claimed that Ministry of Finance always plans to dialogue with as well as long for cooperation from the firms, international organizations, business and manufacturing enterprises in the process of law enforcement in Vietnam. Price stabilizing solution is unexpected for management firms, in the future, when the milk market is healthy again, benefits of the enterprises and consumers are solved, the price is publicly confirmed of the inputs, milk products will be regulated with the right way of a healthily competitive market.
