On 27^th July, 2012, in Hanoi, Minister of Finance Vuong Dinh Hue received Mr Simon Wong, Singapore Ambassador, due to the end of his term in Vietnam.

On the meeting, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his complete term in Vietnam and highly appreciated Singapore’s support for Vietnam in educational and financial sectors…

The Minister announced that the two Ministries of Finance are implementing the Memorandum of 2009-2012 and the Minister also hoped that Singapore will continue coordinating and sharing its experiences on issues of economy restructurization and State capital management in enterprises. At the meeting in March 2012 with Singapore’s Minister of Finance (also Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister), the two Ministers agreed to continue elaborating the coordination programmes for the period of 2013-2015. Minister Vuong Dinh Hue also hoped that Singapore’s Embassy will continue helping the two Ministries of Finance sign the Decree supplementing the Decree on avoidance of double taxation, as well as the MoU on the coordination of the two Ministries for the period of 2013-2015.

At the meeting, Minister Vuong Dinh Hue confirmed that the Finance Ministry of Vietnam is willing to create every favorable conditions that are allowed for Singapore’s investors, as well as to solve their difficulties and obstacles when investing into Vietnam.

Mr Simon Wong thanked Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance for its coordination and support thorough his term. According to him, Singapore is also willing to cooperate and support Vietnam in every relevant fields.
